VISA CONVERSION TO KITAS

Visa conversion allows you to switch from a valid visa to a KITAS without leaving Indonesia.

A regular visa can only be converted into a KITAS. It is not possible to convert one visitor visa into another visitor visa.

In some cases, it is also possible to switch from one type of KITAS to another.

VOA stands for Visa on Arrival. It is a short-term tourist visa that you receive when entering Indonesia or apply for online. It is intended for tourism and short stays.
B1 is a similar short-term entry permit for tourism.

VOA and B1 cannot be converted directly into a KITAS.

You must first obtain a Bridging Visa. This temporary status allows you to remain legally in Indonesia and start the KITAS application process without leaving the country.

After that, you can submit your KITAS application.

C1, D1, D2, and D12 visas can usually be converted directly into a KITAS without obtaining a Bridging Visa.

Direct conversion is possible if:

• at least 35 days remain before your ITK expires;
• your visa was issued through Sunrise Visa, or you have access to the Indonesian Immigration online account used for the application.

ITK is the stay permit you receive after entering Indonesia with a visa. You do not need to apply for it separately.

The conversion price depends on the selected KITAS type.

In some cases, you can switch from one type of KITAS to another.

For example:

• from an Investor KITAS to a Remote Worker KITAS;
• from another KITAS type to a new KITAS.

A Bridging Visa may be required for this type of change. The possibility and price of conversion are determined individually after we check your documents.

For direct conversion, you must submit your documents at least 35 days before your ITK expires.

If less time remains, standard conversion may not be possible. In this case, our manager will check your situation and recommend a suitable option.

After the conversion process begins:

• you cannot leave Indonesia until the process is complete;
• you can travel within Indonesia without restrictions;
• we do not recommend buying tickets to leave Indonesia before your KITAS is issued.

Please send our manager:

• a photo of your passport;
• your current visa or KITAS;
• the expiration date of your ITK;
• confirmation of whether you are currently in Indonesia;
• information about where your visa was issued;
• confirmation of whether you have access to your Indonesian Immigration online account.

After checking this information, we will tell you whether conversion is possible and which option is suitable for you.

Direct conversion from a visa to a KITAS: the price depends on the selected KITAS type.

Switching from one type of KITAS to another: the price is calculated individually.
