Real stories of people harmed by visa agencies in Bali
Over the past few months, public chats and private messages have been filled with more and more accounts from people who became victims of dishonest visa agencies.
Below are several first-hand stories. Each one is different, but they all share the same theme: trust that turned into lost money, documents, and time.
Attention
Even well-known visa agencies in Bali — those that have been operating for years — can turn out to be unreliable.
Fake “agents” pretending to represent real companies
There is another form of fraud that people should be aware of. Recently, individuals have been contacting clients in messengers and social media, pretending to be employees of well-known visa agencies.
For example, Aleksandr Didenko has been messaging clients under the name of SunriseVisa, offering to process visas and accepting payments directly.
These actions are not connected to the agency and seriously damage its reputation.
One client even showed screenshots where he posed as a company manager and collected advance payments.
These client stories are a serious warning.
Even well-known visa agencies in Bali — those that have been operating for years — can turn out to be unreliable.
Common mistakes people keep repeating
  • Not checking the agency’s license or legal status
Beautiful social media and “well-known” agencies do not guarantee quality, responsibility, or legality.
Always verify that the agency has an official license.
It’s easy to do — and extremely important.

  • Paying for services without an official contract or receipt
Always request a contract and/or a payment receipt.
This is the only way to prove the payment and track the transaction if something goes wrong.
For large transactions (for example, company formation), a full contract is usually issued.
For visas, an invoice and official receipt are typically sufficient.
An invoice itself is a financial document — a binding agreement between the agency and the client.
    Do not skip this step.
  • Handing over your passport to intermediaries without valid justification
Today, almost all processes are done online, and in most cases you do not need to give your passport to anyone.
If you must hand it over, there must be written confirmation of transfer.
    We strongly recommend:
    – taking a photo of the person receiving your passport,
    – documenting the handover in writing.
This is not about distrust — it’s about your safety.
Tips for anyone applying for a visa or KITAS
  • Verify the agency’s license
Before making any payment, ensure the agency holds an official license and is registered in OSS (Online Single Submission).
This protects you from scammers who “fabricate” visas or disappear with your money.
  • Keep all receipts and confirmations
    Always save:
    • payment receipts,
    • copies of immigration emails,
    • chat history with the agency.
These documents are essential if any dispute arises or if you need to prove that your application was processed officially.
  • Do not trust anonymous intermediaries
If someone messages you on WhatsApp or Telegram offering to “make a visa cheaper than the agency,” consider it a red flag.
A reliable agency uses official accounts, does not hide its identity or address, and never asks clients to transfer money to a personal bank account.
No intermediaries, “friends of friends,” or private individuals can take responsibility for your visa, guarantee approval, or support you during its validity period. Only a licensed agency can do this.
  • At the first signs of fraud, contact immigration or the police
Each story above is not just a complaint — it’s someone’s real experience.
People lost money, documents, and time because they trusted those who promised help but failed them.
So if you plan to apply for a visa, a KITAS, or open a company in Indonesia, don’t take unnecessary risks.
Verify the agency’s documents, request official confirmations, and keep every payment record.
At SunriseVisa, we believe that trust must be earned.
That’s why we work exclusively through legal, official channels — to ensure you feel safe and supported at every stage.
