VOA (Visa on Arrival): What It Is, Who It’s For, and How to Extend It
VOA (Visa on Arrival) is a visa issued for tourism in Indonesia. You can get it directly at an Indonesian airport after landing, or arrange it in advance online through a visa agency.

Important note: VOA is not available for everyone

VOA can only be issued to citizens of countries listed on Indonesia’s official immigration list. (To confirm whether your country is included, it’s best to check with our managers.)

How to get a VOA — and why it’s “not that simple”

There are two main scenarios:
Common questions during application (when you’re alone with the system)
We see how many questions appear every day in Bali chats.
These questions are not complex – they are basic – but they directly affect the result.
For example:
  • “How do I apply for a visa by myself?”
  • “There is no payment button — where do I click?”
  • “I skipped payment and left the page — how do I find it again?”
  • “The system requires a return ticket. How can I do it without one?”
  • “My payment won’t go through. What should I do?”
And what is this all for?
To save money — and then spend time and energy figuring it all out?

Problems always come up: the site won’t load, data won’t enter, nothing saves, the system crashes, there’s no “pay” button, passport details or surname were entered incorrectly, and so on.

You don’t need to learn the nuances of Indonesia’s immigration system and study every detail of the tourist visa process. That’s what visa agencies are for.
Our job is to make your vacation easier and calmer. We know how to process everything quickly and without system “glitches.” Trust your visa to us – it will be much more stress-free for you.
Extension for 30 more days: why it often becomes stressful
Extending your visa for 30 more days is not just “click a button on a website.”
Any extension requires a visit to an immigration office. This is important to understand from the start.

Why do you need to go to immigration?
To take a photo for ITK. Sometimes biometrics are required as well, and an interview with an immigration officer may be conducted.
And this is where things get interesting.
If you extend it yourself – you’ll almost always get the “full package”.
If someone extends their visa independently and goes to immigration without an agency, in most cases they will have:
  • a photo
  • biometrics
  • and almost certainly an interview.
The officer may ask:
  • Where are you staying?
  • Show your return ticket.
  • What is the purpose of your visit?
And those are exactly the questions where a person can easily get confused.
The officer will notice uncertainty, become suspicious, and ask additional questions.
And then the worst-case scenario becomes possible: a visa extension refusal.
And then you simply have to leave the country.
Extension questions that seriously stress people out
Basic triggers for tourists whose visa is about to expire:
  • How do I extend a VOA?
  • Do I need to go to the immigration office?
  • Where is the immigration office located?
  • I don’t have an extension button — what should I do?
  • When do I need to go to immigration?
  • How do I know the extension has been approved?
  • It’s been a week since payment — why hasn’t it been extended yet? My visa ends in 3 days. It will become overstaying.
And one of the most frequent questions:
“How can I extend a visa without a return ticket?”
People don’t want to buy return tickets – and that makes sense.
No one knows how long they will stay: a week or four. It depends on mood, plans, and desire.
Also, if you’re extending your visa, buying a return ticket in advance seems strange anyway – what if you decide to fly to another country?

But the fact remains:
without a return ticket, it’s impossible to apply for a visa in advance and extend it independently.
Moreover, a return ticket may be required even before you fly – at departure from your home country, during check-in.
And without it, you may simply be denied boarding.
The result is a lot of stress, issues, nerves, and exhaustion after a long flight.

Why it’s better to use an agency instead of doing it yourself

Yes, you can apply for the visa yourself… but you’ll have far more questions than you expect.
You can collect opinions from “experts” and “experienced” tourists and try to figure it out. But in practice, almost everyone ends up thinking:
“Am I entering everything correctly?”
And then come the mistakes, panic, extra questions at the border, and the risk of having to apply for a new visa.

How can you make it easier?
Apply through our agency, pay for the visa via us — and forget about possible problems.
  • Our website always loads.
  • We know how to prepare the flight ticket correctly.
  • We don’t get refusals.
  • Your visa will be ready within 24 hours.
  • Your extension will require minimal effort from your side.
  • We only need your passport.
